Prof. Wojciech Nowak is a professor at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków and the Director of the AGH Centre of Energy. He is a renowned expert in thermal energy and combustion engineering, with extensive experience in advanced coal combustion systems, particularly in circulating fluidized bed technology. 

 

The lecture will address the contemporary challenges faced by the energy sector in the context of ongoing climate change and the global transition toward sustainable development. Professor Nowak will explore the need to strike a balance between energy security, economic efficiency, and environmental protection.

From COâ‚‚ to fuels of the future

​

​

Presentation by Professor Jarosław Zuwała, graduate of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Energy at the Silesian University of Technology, professor of engineering and technical sciences, deputy director for research and development at the Institute of Fuel and Energy Technology in Zabrze.

 

​Professor will deliver a short lecture on the development of flexible and sustainable energy systems based on Power-to-X technologies, enabling the conversion of renewable electricity into synthetic fuels such as methane and methanol. The talk will present the Institute’s work on COâ‚‚ and hydrogen utilization within the new hybrid Power-to-X pilot facility and outline future research and collaboration opportunities.

  • are involved in the organization of conferences, workshops, and science promotion events,

  • contribute to initiatives supporting sustainable development, innovation, and inter-university cooperation.​​​​​​​

The aim of this session is to highlight the importance of student engagement, teamwork, and scientific passion in shaping a modern academic community. The awarded students serve as an inspiration to their peers and demonstrate that the enthusiasm and initiative of young people can have a real impact on the development of science, universities, and the region.
